About

Howdy. I’m Andy. I live in Texas with my wife, Jaclyn, and a lot of animals. We’ve been together since 2002, and we both make websites for a living. However, we are not looking for freelance work.

I started this website in January 2011. I’ve been on the internet since 1997 or so, and I’ve had a journal since 2001, before “blogs” were commonplace. I’ve always thought the term “blog” was silly, by the way.

When I’m not working, I’m usually watching TV, reading, playing keeper on the soccer field, playing Magic, or playing music with my band. I lead a very exciting life, let me tell you.

Here are a few random facts about me:

  • I love Coke and Chex Mix.
  • I have lots of books that I haven’t read yet.
  • I can’t blow a bubble with gum.
  • I quote TV shows, movies, and other media a lot.
  • I got a degree from Texas A&M in Information and Operations Management. In layman’s terms, that means they taught me how to manage programmers. Ironically, I am now a programmer, and right now I don’t really want to become a manager.

In case you want to follow me around the web, you can find me on Facebook or LinkedIn.

The name of this website comes from a handle I’ve used online for many years, Othersider. As you might have guessed, I derived it from the Red Hot Chili Peppers’ song “Otherside” which was one of my favorite songs at that time. I came up with the name many years before a short-lived TV show did. I haven’t watched the show, but I don’t imagine the creators came up with it the same way I did. Either that, or they got it from me.

This website doesn’t have one specific purpose; it’s just here for me to talk about whatever’s on my mind. There’s a lot of ranting. Also, it probably goes without saying, but the opinions expressed herein are mine and mine alone unless otherwise specified, and do not necessarily represent the views of anyone else. Everything posted here is mine unless otherwise specified, but feel free to refer to anything, or engage in fair use, with proper attribution. Please don’t steal.

Thanks for dropping by!
